Art Classes

Art has a profound impact on artistic development, personal growth, and overall well-being of individuals and communities.

Age 7-9:

Friday 16.30 - 17.30

Age 9-11:

Wednesday 16.15 - 17.15

Age 12-15:

Wednesday 17.15 - 18.15

£15 per class (*including material)

Payments are scheduled on a termly basis (6 weeks) and invoices will be sent before the term begins.
The price includes the materials required for the classes.
You can sign up your child at anytime during the term. Payments will be calculated proportionally based on the number of classes left.
You have the flexibility to discontinue the class whenever you choose, by providing a one-month notice

In my art classes, students will learn various fine art techniques and will explore different mediums to develop their creativity and artistic skills. All material are included in the price. Please note that these materials are exclusively used for the art classes. If your child wishes to create at home, I will be more than happy to assist you with choosing the right materials for your child.

Pop Art and People!

This term we will explore drawing human figures using some basic proportions. We will also learn about Pop Art and explore famous Pop Art artist like Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol.

Each child will be provided with a sketchbook where they can freely create, explore and experiment with the techniques learnt. Children aged 11 - 14 years will learn slightly more advanced techniques, appropriate for their age group.

April-July 2024

Learn Sculpting in Clay!

I am excited to introduce sculpting in clay for the summer term (April-July).

What Will We Learn:

We will explore basic techniques of sculpting and how to use the tools to create a desired outcome.
create parts of the human head, learning how to sculpt facial features.
Learn basic facial proportions and create them in 3D to get a better understanding.
The lessons will also be combined with drawing to enhance the skill of observation and have a deeper understanding the subject.
Lessons will be planned to suit different age groups.

Why Sculpting?

Like drawing and painting, sculpting is a popular form of fine art. Sculptures can be created using different materials, including junk modelling.

Clay is known to have great therapeutic properties and it help shape imaginations. Introducing 3D objects to observe and draw has been at the heart of my teaching methods. I believe that learning the basics of sculpting will enhance engagement and takes art making to the next level. It amplifies drawing skills, trains the eyes to observe and look at real object. This gives a better understanding of drawing and painting itself.

All materials are provided, including an apron. Please make sure to wear old clothes!

Meet the Teacher

Suzanne is a professional watercolour artist, recognised for her expertise and achievements in the field. She holds a post-graduate degree in Fine Art from University for the Creative Arts, Canterbury.

She has been actively involved in conducting painting workshops and classes for both children and adults for the past few years; and exhibiting and selling her artworks for over ten years.

Teaching and inspiring both children and adults to develop a creative practice is at the core of all her activities. She has over 6000 students on skillshare, an online learning platform. She also uploads regular video tutorials on youtube where you can follow her artistic journey.

During her classes, she aims to provide a learning experience where the children get the opportunity of experimenting with different fine art mediums for drawing, painting and sculpting; learn techniques that form the basis of their artistic journey and develop a habit of creativity and self-expression. She believes that promoting artistic expression and providing opportunities for creative growth can greatly contribute to a well-rounded education.

Suzanne has an enhanced DBS and has experience working with children.

Explore fine art mediums such as painting, drawing and sculpting through structured and fun-filled classes for children.
During your weekly art classes, you will be introduced to a wide range of fine art materials and techniques to explore artistic interests, promote self-expression and pursue creative aspirations.
Classes will be structured to accommodate specific age groups. Currently, I am conducting 3 weekly classes for age group 7-9 years, 9-11 years and 12-15 years.
12-15 age group consists of slightly more advanced classes for students seeking a more dedicated approach to art.
Each student will be provided with a range of materials, including a sketchbook to explore and develop ideas through free hand drawing, painting and collage.
We will explore the works of historical and contemporary artists and crafts people and create artworks inspired by them.
Each class runs for 1 hour
Maximum 10 students per class
Price : £15 per class including materials. Payments are scheduled for 6 weeks for a total of £90
