Join me  for a relaxed session where you will learn how to create Christmas themed watercolour postcards.

The illustrations will be kept very simple and can be enjoyed by anyone who would like to bring a personal handmade touch to the cards you sent out this year. 

During the workshop, I will explain and demonstrate how to simplyfy sketches and use watercolour in a loose and dynamic style. The traditional method of line and wash is a great way to relax and create with confidence.

The workshop is divided into two sessions. During the first session, you will learn the basic techniques using watercolour and combine it with pen or pencils.

The second session will concentrate on creating Christmas themed sketches in a loose line and wash technique. Please find the schedule for this workshop below.

• 2.00 pm- 2.15 pm: Introduction to watercolour and use of line to enhance your watercolour sketches.
• 2.15pm- 2.50 pm: Demo on how to simplify sketches. Create quick sketches based on reference pictures
• 2.50pm-3.00pm: Short break
• 3.00 pm- 4.00pm: use watercolour to paint the sketches and enhance them using pen or colour pencils
• 4.00pm- 4.15pm: Question and answer session.

Materials:

We will be using the traditional technique of line and wash using watercolour, pen and pencils.

All materials are provided. Please feel free to bring a drink. 

How to get to the Venue

The exhibition is situated in Lower Rose Gallery, bluewater.

Landmark: Opposite Pret a Manger.

Bluewater is easily accessible by car and is just a short distance from the A2, M2, M25 and M20.

Bluewater has 13,000 car parking spaces which are extra wide and free to use all day every day. Car parking spaces are never more than a five­ minute walk away from entrances with separate pedestrian pathways so children are not crossing busy roadways.

If you are using public transport, Bluewater has an excellent bus network. Greenhithe is the closest train station to Bluewater.
